Ford power steering hose leak at fitting
WebSep 18, 2010 · 2000 ford windstar. o.k, I replaced the power steering rack and the pressure and return lines. the rack is a re-manufactured, the lines are straight from ford. The new lines. are leaking at the rack, both of them. I tried several times to secure the lines, each time using new teflon seals.

I usually stop engine after 40-50 seconds to let foam die down , then top it up as it will still be low. Webcheck hoses and fittings for signs of swelling. check lines and fittings for wet spots and damage. check the reservoir for cracks and leaks. check the steering pump for cracks and leaks. look behind the steering pump pulley for a wet area. look at the bellows, at the ends of the rack and pinion assembly, for wet spots.
